cristina's question:
There's an enchanted ball in Vienna as far as I know, held at the Opera. Can ordinary people come?(give a different answer) .
Sure, there's annually some 5000 guests swaying on the dancing ring on condition to pay the 240$ admission. It's up to you :) It's a fact the ball is fascinating: the baroque Staatsoper gets full with white-tied titled men and gleaming women, all under the magic spell of the waltz. The Opernball starts with the performance of some 200 debutantes, usually the offspring of wealthy Austrian managers, and continues till 5 am with elegant dancing. The tradition was set up in 1877 by Emperor Franz Josef himself (mid-February or beginning of March)...Good luck!
